The Sejm Library – the library of the Polish Parliament – is a research library; it also performs the functions of an autonomous state archives as well as a museum of the Polish parliamentary system.
The Library’s mission is on the one hand to assist the legislative process by providing library and information services to the Sejm and its bodies, as well as to the research and advisory staff, and on the other hand to collect and preserve complete documentation of legislative activity as well as activities related to the Sejm and to the history of the Polish parliamentary system.
The Sejm Library is an organizational unit of the Chancellery of the Sejm. Since 1989 it has also served the newly reestablished Polish Senate. Collections and services of the Library are also available to external visitors, especially to employees of government offices, central institutions, and also to academics and to anybody interested in parliamentary matters.
